Ursa Cannabis & Holistic Health is a boutique retail space in Fort Qu’apelle, Saskatchewan, designed to sell both cannabis and holistic health products. The focus of the design was to create an environment that emphasized natural remedies and a connection to nature. Large south facing windows create an indirect connection to nature, allowing natural light to flood the main retail floor space. The relationship between the preserved moss feature and, the woodgrain textures, and natural light, create a biophilic design experience. The custom millwork pieces compliment the space beautifully, from the custom tree accent, to the signage that was developed to be cohesive with the environment.

Following an integrated design process with a large community stakeholder group, 1080 and Number 10 Architecture team worked to design a new school that reflects the character of Regina’s Cathedral neighbourhood while also meeting the needs of 21st century learners.  Using reclaimed materials from the original school, and following sustainable design practices, École Connaught Community School has been certified LEED Silver from the Canadian Green Building Council.
