Inspired by the unique urban vibe that the local clothiers had cultivated in the city, 1080 created a contemporary, industrial design for Havik reflective of their image and overall brand. An adaptive reuse of a vacant mechanic shop, the team capitalized on the industrial shell elevating it through the use of polished concrete, barn board and welded stell components, juxtaposed against glossy acrylic panels and stage lighting. A sleek yet unrefined space is created with a nod to the roots of the original construction of the building.
The renovations to the building exterior continue this theme of exposed industrial components through a new steel superstructure and two-story entry feature creating rhythm to the box like structure and a focal point to the building. Premium display space at the second level of the glass curtainwall feature allows for highly visible yet secure product display, a key concern for the client.
1080 artfully transformed a vacant mechanic shop into a contemporary retail space for Havik, showcasing an industrial aesthetic with polished concrete, barn board, and welded steel components, alluding to the building’s original construction while incorporating a sleek, modern design.
