Designed by 1080 Architecture in partnership with Number Ten Architectural Group, Ecole Connaught replaced a well-loved but structurally unsound heritage structure in Regina’s Cathedral neighbourhood. This bright, modern 21st Century School reflects the vibrant Cathedral community while also paying homage to the building upon whose footprint it now stands.

Ecole Connaught is designed in small ‘neighbourhoods’ within the larger school community with a focus on every area of the building functioning as a learning space. The design invites collaboration and project-based learning, paired with areas that support more individualized, focused learning.

Following an integrated design process with a large community stakeholder group, 1080 and Number 10 Architecture team worked to design a new school that reflects the character of Regina’s Cathedral neighbourhood while also meeting the needs of 21st century learners.  Using reclaimed materials from the original school, and following sustainable design practices, École Connaught Community School has been certified LEED Silver from the Canadian Green Building Council.
