Boasting authentic, homemade sushi costumes and a fun team name to match (No More Mr. Rice Guys), the 1080 crew competed in the 2019 KidSport Corporate Challenge on Saturday, May 25th.  While we may not have won any of the events, we had an absolute blast and were honoured to receive a prize for 2nd Best Dressed (Jurassic Park took the win).

The KidSport Corporate Challenge is a fundraising event where businesses enter teams to compete in a variety of stations throughout the day – this year there was everything from a Fire Fighter Obstacle Course, to Axe Throwing, to Human Hungry Hungry Hippos and more. Teams raise funds in advance to be able to participate in the event; every dollar raised goes directly to Regina KidSport, a children’s charity dedicated to assisting children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community program sports.

1080 raised just over $3,140 by hosting an Axe Throwing night, BBQing outside of Sobey’s, and selling a lot of raffle tickets.

We are passionate about our community and the people within it, and know that sport provides children with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of teamwork, dedication, responsibility, and perseverance – all qualities that our 1080 strives to achieve each and every day.
